We offer a real bush veldt experience at our venue, less than 40kmNorth of Pretoria in a malaria free area, in the north eastern part of Gauteng, which falls within the Dinokeng area.
Dinokeng means "a place of rivers", as the region lies in the catchment area of two rivers that flow into the Olifants and Limpopo rivers and on to the Indian Ocean. Dinokeng was given this name as in African culture, river sources have sacred significance and their confluences are believed to hold healing powers. The name Dinokeng is derived from the languages of the baTswana and baPedi people, who traditionally inhabited the area. Dinokeng is home to a range of game including rhinoceros, leopard, lions, buffalo, elephants, zebra, hyena, giraffe, buffalo, kudu, red hartebees and eland. Dinokeng is second only to Ndumo in the St Lucia area in terms of its numbers of bird species, making this a birdwatcher's paradise.
